How to play: Beleaguered Castle solitaire
Beleaguered Castle is a relatively difficult game to complete but offers a moderately different
layout and gameplay to some other popular games such as Klondike.
It is included in Solitaire Whizz along with one of its cousins, Streets & Alleys.
Layout
The four Aces are laid out in a column, forming the Foundations.
Adjacent to each foundations are two sideways piles or "wings" to the left and right.
All cards are face up and visible.
The layout as it appears in Solitaire Whizz is illustrated in the screenshot below:

Aim
The aim is to build all cards on to the foundations, in ascending suit order from
Ace to King.
Gameplay
All of the end cards of the "wings" are available for play at any time.
Any available card may be played either:
- on to the foundation of its suit, in ascending order;
- on to another wing, building in descending order, regardless of suit.
An empty wing may be filled with any card.
As mentioned above, the game is won if you manage to get all of the card on to the foundations.
In reality, this is extremely difficult and a more realistic aim is to beat your previous record!
